Basset Hound

Basset Hounds require minimal grooming care but in the evening, it is important they get some energetic playtime to ward off behavioral problems. Basset hounds are low energy dogs and usually, just sleep most of the day if no one is home.

Cairn Terrier

There are some small hypoallergenic dogs that can get extra dirty. One of the hypoallergenic dogs that tends to get dirty and stinky is the Cairn Terrier.

Cairn Terriers, are small in size but rather sturdy dogs. They usually need to be brushed on a daily basis but because of their small size, this takes just minutes to complete. They, like the basset hound, will need some energetic playtime in the evening.

French Bulldog

French Bulldogs are not very active dogs. Because of their short faces, breathing and running are sometimes hard for them, especially if it is hot and humid outside. They would rather just spend the day napping. Also, French Bulldogs are not barkers, ideal if you live in an apartment building.

Maltese

Maltese dogs love nothing more than to relax on the back of the couch all day. They don’t get bored easily, so you don’t have to worry about them tearing up the house while you are gone. They do need to be brushed nightly, but since they are small in size, this doesn’t take a huge amount of time.

Greyhound

Greyhounds are sleek in stature and are affectionate and loyal. Even though these dogs are most often associated with greyhound racing, they don’t need to run around always.

Shar-Pei

Shar-peis are one of the easiest dog breeds to housetrain. They don’t require a great deal of grooming but they will need some run around exercise time in the evening.
