Slick is quite a traditional name for a hunting dog, which is perfect for this breed as it gives a nod back to when they were mostly used for hunting. It also makes for a cute but edgy nickname.

Fun fact: according to Ancestry.com, Pennsylvania has the highest concentration of families with the “Slick” surname!
